1. Software Developer (aka Software Engineer)

The median salary for a software developer is $90,777 per year. Those with five to nine years of experience at the mid-career level make an average of $100,000 or more. Software developers work on computer networks, computers, and mobile devices. Sought-after skills include enterprise resource planning, distributed systems, SQL, Python, C# Programming Language, and Java.

2. Data Scientist

The average annual salary for a data scientist is $98,342. A mid-career data scientist with five to nine years of experience makes an average of $112,377 annually. Popular skills for data scientists include machine learning, data analysis, Python, and statistical analysis.

3. Cyber Security Analyst

Cyber security analysts make an average base salary of $78,622 annually, though those with about 10 years of experience can easily make more than $100,000. Sought-after skills of cyber security analysts include the obvious cyber security, as well as security risk management, securing information and event management, security procedures and policies, and security intrusion detection.

4. Cloud Architect

The median base salary for a cloud architect is $132,773 per year, and you don’t have to have years of experience to make more than $100,000 in this position.
