ABOUT THIS FEATURED OPPORTUNITY
Our Client is seeking a data center Electrical Subject Matter Expert to join their Data Center Facility Operations team. Our client's data centers serve as the foundation upon which our systems operate to meet the demands of their customers. The Electrical Subject Matter Expert will need to have a broad understanding of electrical system and equipment function and will be responsible for procedure-based electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, training, and project oversight. The candidate will need to be experienced in Low Voltage & Medium Voltage power distribution (High Voltage is a plus!), electrical protection & controls systems, UPS & battery systems, electrical testing, applicable electrical codes & standards, and have a basic understanding of mechanical systems.
THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU
Serve as primary onsite technical resource of electrical infrastructure systems and equipment, with an emphasis on practical/field application
Author or approve work procedures to cover electrical troubleshooting, repair, retrofit, and maintenance activities, with an emphasis on assessing & mitigating personnel and system risk
Conduct or oversee hands-on troubleshooting, repair, retrofit, and maintenance of electrical equipment
Provide Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QAQC) oversight of initial campus construction, retrofit projects & maintenance activity
Lead and/or participate in root-cause analysis activities in area of expertise
Provide training to Critical Facility Engineers and other cross functional teams on electrical equipment/systems, procedures, and changes
Manage vendor relationships for electrical maintenance and retrofit work
Provide feedback on global electrical maintenance strategies
Provide feedback on global electrical system design improvements
Other duties as required to support the operation of our client's data centers
Knows intimately the layout of the electrical system. Power through to the final delivery point.

They will answer questions for the PE on the electrical side
Plan the maintenance- need computer skills
NO INSTALLERS they need to have done troubleshooting
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
7+ years relevant electrical industry experience or electrical trade level experience
Experienced in Low Voltage & Medium Voltage power distribution
Bachelor’s degree in related field plus 3+ years relevant electrical industry experience will be considered in lieu of 7+ year relevant electrical industry experience
Expansive theoretical & practical understanding of power equipment & systems, with expertise in electrical equipment design, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and/or construction
Working knowledge of critical facility operations with experience or understanding of procedure-based work
Working knowledge of mechanical, controls, and life safety monitoring systems
Significant experience in comprehending electrical plans, specifications, and equipment shop drawings
Experience working in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite - Word, Excel and Outlook

Probably a military guy from power distribution
Retrofit experience

Preferred Qualifications:
7+ years’ experience in a data center or other critical environment
NETA or NICET electrical testing experience/certifications
Equipment field service engineering experience
Instrumentation & control, power system protection, power automation, etc experience
Experience in high Voltage (up to 345kV) equipment construction, operation, and maintenance
Trade Certification or state license as an electrician
